Malini Parthasarathy has resigned from the board of The Hindu Group Publishing, citing a narrowed scope for her efforts and a shrinking space for her editorial views. She expressed her desire to revive the legacy of fair and unbiased reporting at The Hindu Group and free the narrative from ideological bias. Parthasarathy assumed the position of Chairperson of the Board in July 2020, succeeding N Ram. An official statement from Parthsarathy read, “My term as Chairperson of The Hindu Group Publishing ends. My entire endeavour as Chairperson and Director, Editorial Strategy was to ensure that The Hindu Group revives its legacy of fair and unbiased reporting.
