In their ranks, Kenya had the continent’s three best players with Sharon Chepchumba being crowned the Most Valuable Player, captain Mercy Moim getting the Best Receiver award and Emmaculate Nekesa was named the Best Setter. Just one of the two surviving members from the Class of 2015 that had lifted Kenya’s last African title, Moim also provided leadership on and off the court which helped push Malkia Strikers to victory.
