A man is being treated in hospital after being shot in north Dublin on Friday evening. A man in his 20s was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital, where gardaí say he is being treated for gunshot wounds to his leg. Witnesses said a silver Volkswagen Boro pulled up beside the man and a passenger emerged, shooting the man twice with a handgun. House to house inquiries have begun and gardaí are carrying out a technical examination of the scene. Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Coolock Garda station on 01 666 4200.
