Man, 23, surrenders over woman’s death in motel

Farmer Sornram Phao-eiumchin, also 23, who was accompanied by his mother and a village headman, claimed that he befriended the victim via Facebook over two days before they met for dinner and went to the motel together. Hotel employee Thanawat Tonpho, 35, told police that the woman had arrived with a man on a motorcycle at 11.25pm. Thanawat said the man paid for the room and led the woman inside, although she appeared to hesitate and was heard to say that she would like to go home. About 30 minutes later, the man came out alone and rode away on his motorcycle. When the man did not return, Thanawat knocked on the door of the room, but no one answered.
