Kevin De Bruyne has been sidelined for five to six weeks after suffering knee ligament damage during Thursday’s Carabao Cup fourth-round win over Fulham. The 27-year-old had only recently returned from a serious knee problem which has kept him out him since August, and made just his second start of the season against the Cottagers in midweek. De Bruyne put on a dominant display in the 2-0 victory but fell awkwardly after tangling with Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the closing stages and was forced off the field holding his knee. Manager Pep Guardiola provided an update on the Belgian’s condition, saying: "Unfortunately he is injured but fortunately he will come back in four-six weeks.
