Having been pegged back to 3-3 late on, Jack Grealish was sent clean through, but referee Simon Hooper blew the whistle for an earlier foul to the anger of City players and fans. John Stones and Mateo Kovacic were both named on the bench as they returned to training, as Jeremy Doku got the nod over Jack Grealish on the wing. Jack Grealish's first goal of the season looked to be a winner, but Dejan Kulusevski's late header sent Spurs back to London with a point.
