The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal are expected to prepare for the 2024/25 season by heading across the pond to face one another and entertain their American fans. As reported by The Athletic, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and Chelsea are also due to travel to the United States this summer and negotiations to play one another in a friendly match are ongoing. Arsenal, meanwhile, are controlled by the Kroenke family and the Glazer family still own most of Manchester United - despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe agreeing a deal to buy 25 per cent of the club in December 2023. Furthermore, the Premier League wants to capitalise on what are two very important years for the US in football.
