United’s England contingent, including Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford, are getting ready for their semi-final against Denmark on Wednesday, while eliminated players such as Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are enjoying some time off. That leaves the players without international commitments to get back to work at Carrington this week, be it the club’s exciting young talents or the seasoned veterans not involved at Euro 2020. There is then a friendly at Old Trafford against Everton on 7 August before the season gets underway at home against Leeds on 14 August, followed by away trips to Southampton and Wolves before the end of the month.
