Man charged in Calgary Drop-In Centre stabbing

A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with a stabbing Monday morning at a homeless shelter in downtown Calgary. Police were called to the Drop-In Centre just after 11 a.m. for reports of a stabbing inside the entrance of the shelter. Police say they believe the suspect pepper sprayed the victim during the attack and fled the north towards the Bow River. Police say the suspect requested medical attention as it's believed he was suffering from the side effects of the pepper spray. The victim, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital in serious condition, but his condition was later upgraded to stable.
