By RUBY GONZALES | rugonzales@scng.com | San Gabriel Valley Tribune|A Duarte man on Thursday pleaded not guilty to charges related to his fatal shooting of a deer with a bow and arrow in a Monrovia neighborhood. Greg Risling, spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, said Rodriguez returns to court Jan. 10 for a hearing. If convicted of all the charges, Risling said Rodriguez could get up to 3½ years in county jail. He knew he was within the 150-yard buffer zone from homes but felt compelled to finish off the deer. Rodriguez claimed the deer was suffering and was darting into the street, posing a potential danger to drivers.
