Man dies in power pole crash near AshburtonThe serious crash unit is investigating a fatal crash near Ashburton. A man has died after crashing a car into a power pole on the Methven Highway near Ashburton. A police spokeswoman said the man was the only person in the car when he crashed on State Highway 77 about 3.30am on Sunday. The serious crash unit was investigating.
