Area assistant county commissioner Vitalis Ogur said Nzyuko Makau and his wife, Ann Makau, were casual labourers at Dwa Sisal Estate. Ogur said the two were headed to work when Nzyuko allegedly slashed Ann with a machete before hanging himself. The bodies were taken to Makindu Sub-County Hospital Morgue.
