A middle-aged man has been accused of killing his girlfriend over alleged infidelity in a community in Cross River State, sparking outrage among residents calling for justice. Confirming the incident, Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force in the state, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, on Sunday, said an investigation has commenced and assured that justice would be served. Meanwhile, the case is being prepared for transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet and thorough investigation”, Eitokpah explained. Recall that on March 10, the PUNCH reported that a 29-year-old man, Quadri Mohammed, killed his 26-year-old girlfriend, Precious Mogaji, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. The spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the police had commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
