GEORGE TOWN: An alleged Islamic State (IS) sympathiser with materials on the group in his possession was picked up by police at Sungai Pinang on Tuesday evening. The age of the suspect was not disclosed in the operation carried out by the Special Branch from Bukit Aman. Penang deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Roslee Chik said the individual had paraphernalia of the group, but did not give details of what the man had in his possession. DCP Roslee denied social media reports that the man had bombs and guns in his possession.
