A 45-year-old man was shot dead while his friend was critically injured after four bike-borne miscreants opened fire on them after they resisted a robbery bid in Sector 71 on Saturday night. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Niwas, who was returning home on a bike with his friend Vicky Gupta. "After intercepting, the criminals fired at Gupta and wounded him after he resisted the robbery. The injured Vicky Gupta called the police and informed about the incident. The duo was rushed to a nearby hospital in Sector 66 where the doctors declared Niwas dead on arrival.
