Man who sexually abused a child at Eton College jailed for over three years

A man who ‘abused a position of trust’ by committing several sex offences against a child at Eton College has been jailed for more than three years. At a trial in October, Jacob Leland, aged 37, of Lincolns Inn Field, Camden, was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault. The offences, which took place in the early 2010s, were reported to Thames Valley Police in 2020 and the Child Abuse Investigation Unit launched an investigation. Leland was also acquitted of 13 counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of sexual assault. "Leland held a position of trust and completely abused this by committing abhorrent crimes that will have a long-lasting effect on his victim.
