The injury bug has claimed another member of the Maple Leafs. Centre Frederik Gauthier won’t travel for the team’s next two games to Nashville and Buffalo, the Leafs announced on Monday. Gauthier is suffering from a foot injury and will be re-evaluated on Thursday, the team said. In the Leafs’ most recent game, a 6-2 loss in Ottawa against the Senators, Gauthier played 10 minutes 40 seconds and was on the ice for the final shift. Kapanen skated on a line with centre Nazem Kadri and left winger Patrick Marleau.
