A Maple Ridge man employed by the local school district as a child and youth care worker has been charged with multiple sex-related offences, including possessing child pornography and eight counts of sexual interference. Multiple charges have been filed against him, including:One count of possessing child pornography. Sylvia Russell, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows School District superintendent, sent a notice to parents in the district on Thursday. "Mr. Olson is a child and youth care worker in the school district and has worked in a number of our elementary and secondary schools over the course of his employment." Russell says Olson has been on unpaid leave since the school district was made aware of his arrest.
