A Marakwet clan in Kerio Valley has been accused of sheltering bandits who attempted to raid a GSU camp. Members of Kapsiren clan on Tuesday said the Kabshoi clan accommodated the attackers on Monday night. One person was injured on Tuesday after suspected Pokot bandits from Baringo attempted to attack a GSU camp in Marakwet East. Elgeyo Marakwet police commander Sharif Abdallah said more officers have been deployed to restore calm. He said the attacks have been fuelled by the high number of illegal firearms in the hands of civilians.
