Former Upton Road School secretary, Marjorie Emberton celebrates her 100th birthday today at Barnston Court Care Home. He was in the 8th army fighting the war in North Africa where he asked Marjorie to write to him. Now Marjorie will be celebrating her 100 years in Barnston Court Care Home where she has lived since 2018. She will be celebrating with her niece, family and friends as well as everyone who lives and works at Barnston Court. To start the birthday celebrations, a Health Care Assistant from Barnston Court took Marjorie to the local hairdresser in Moreton and she had a free perm cut and blow dry on Friday, 28 May.
