Smich told the jury his version of what was happening under the cloak of darkness. When they arrived, Millard told him to chain the gate to the farm and make sure no one had followed them. Smich and Millard first met when Millard cold-called Smich to buy marijuana from him. Smich said he then started stripping the interior out of Bosma’s truck and hosing it down, under orders from Millard. Millard told him a tale that a friend dropped them off and was meeting them at Tim Hortons after the test drive.
