Mark Teixeira is siding with MLB owners over his fellow players in the coronavirus pay dispute. The three-time All-Star’s pleas are hypocritical, and worse yet, play directly into the owners’ cynical hands. Earlier this week, MLB owners approved an 82-game schedule that would start in early July and feature teams playing regional schedules in their home ballparks. Democratic governor J.B. Pritzker slammed MLB players Tuesday, saying he is “disappointed” players are “holding out for these very, very high salaries.”But the fact is, in this scenario, the players are labor. But keep in mind, the players are the ones assuming the risk when it comes to playing baseball in the midst of a pandemic.
