Maroon 5 to reportedly play the halftime show at the 2019 Super Bowl

Your halftime performers at the 2019 Super Bowl, whether you like it or not, will be Maroon 5, according to early reports from Variety. In fact, it’s a poppy (read: safe) choice in line with previous performers Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars. However, thanks to Maroon 5’s catalogue as of late largely being collaborations, you can probably count on some special guests. With the league taking a stance against former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick taking a knee during the national anthem, the tides have turned. On his recent song “Apeshit,” with wife Beyoncé, JAY-Z seemed to confirm this, rapping, “I said no to the Super Bowl, you need me, I don’t need you.”Whatever the case, the league and Maroon 5 have yet to officially confirm.
