However, the Lionesses were unable to find an equaliser after Olga Carmona scored Spain’s opening goal in the 29th minute. Earps was crowned the best goalkeeper in the world at FIFA’s The Best awards earlier this year and she has now added to her personal trophy cabinet with the World Cup Golden Glove. The 30-year-old kept three clean sheets during the World Cup and was named Player of the Match for her superb display against Nigeria in the last 16. Japan’s Hinata Miyazawa won the Golden Boot after she scored five goals in the tournament.
