The late stateswoman, who died at 88, was laid to rest on Friday October 21 after a state burial at the forecourt of the State House. Dr Grant, who served as a member of the Council of State in the erstwhile Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), was also the Deputy PNDC Secretary for Health in 1985. “First to attend the funeral of somebody who has been like a mother to me, very interested in my progress in my career – Dr Mrs Mary Grant. And also to be here with you this evening for the launch of my good friend Dele Momodu’s (Chief Executive of the Ovation Magazine) special edition of the Ovation.”
