Massive California brush fire erupts near Angeles National Forest


The blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time in the foothills of the mountainside community about 65 miles north of Los Angeles. It is near North Lake Hughes and Pine Canyon roads in the Angeles National Forest Fox LA reported. In response, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said incident commanders had requested to double the number of "strike teams" responding to the fire to 20. The official Twitter account for the Angeles National Forest shared an image taken street level outside the town that showed thick clouds of smoke billowing well above the mountaintops. By Wednesday afternoon, it had spread to more than 3,700 acres, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
