Most certainly, yes, people in London make money and gain incomes by selling financial services to continentals. But the true gain here is by those very continentals, who gain access to the fine financial services of London. Rather, we should be maximising the benefit to the continentals by their easy access to those fine and lovely financial services. Special relationship here means "don't screw us all up by stopping us from getting the financial services we want." So, just because we decide we want to leave the political structure why should they want to make themselves poorer by not having those financial services?
