Likewise, it’s terrific to hear from Albas on the important issue of freer internal trade. Unfortunately, politicians love to talk about these issues when they’re not in a position to do anything about them, but lose that enthusiasm once in power. It’s great to hear Bernier talking tough on supply management. That’s still better than the Tory record on supply management, mind you: after taking the admittedly positive step of abolishing the Wheat Board, the former government actually boasted of standing up for Canadian interests (a.k.a. Fresh off a generally well-received convention in Vancouver, some federal Conservative members of Parliament are feeling their oats.
