Auston Matthews was absent from the ice Tuesday morning as the Leafs practised following their win Monday over Las Vegas. The Leaf centre was a game-time decision for the Vegas game, but felt well enough to play. “Just a little bit of soreness, and I was fine to play (Monday). I think you’re never really feeling 100 per cent, but I felt good enough to play and I felt good enough to contribute.”Matthews’ comments to the media Monday night came only after a lengthy, post-game treatment. The Leafs recalled Fredrik Gauthier from the Marlies and had him practising with the team Tuesday.
