Rep. Max Rose, D-N.Y., conceded to Republican Congresswoman-elect Nicole Malliotakis, pledging in a statement on Thursday to work toward a "smooth transition" of power. Rose, considered a moderate Democrat, was elected in 2018 to represent New York's 11th district, which includes Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn. The seat was previously Republican and carried by Trump in 2016 with a 10-point lead over former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
