KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis emerged as the clear winner in the telco space in terms of 4G speed as compared to its competitors in the last six months, the latest data by OpenSignal showed. “Small increases in 4G speed and 4G availability - along with the likely transition of more Maxis subscribers to 4G services - pushed Maxis’ average overall speed to 17Mbps in our most recent measurements. “Yes was still a close second with an overall speed score of 15.7Mbps,” the wireless coverage mapping company said. In terms of availability, Maxis and Yes split in regional awards for 4G and speed in Kuala Lumpur. “Unifi’s 4G availability increased by 10 percentage points in six months, while Celcom’s score increased by more than seven percentage points,” it said.
