GELANG PATAH: A 22-year-old mechanic died after being crushed by a roller compactor while repairing the heavy vehicle in Tanjung Kupang here. Johor Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) deputy director Supian Alias said the victim was performing his tasks on a slope near the Jalan Anggun road construction site when the heavy vehicle rolled down and crushed him. Supian added that the incident was being investigated by a team of investigation officers from the department before necessary actions could be taken. All accidents, whether those involving employees or the public, are being taken seriously by his department, he said. He encouraged employers to visit www.dosh.gov.my for occupational safety and health guidelines and regulations across various industries.
