To the Editor A recently published Viewpoint expressed concern about unethical behavior and the MPFS.1 The authors posit that the MPFS institutionalizes physician conflict of interest regarding work effort and RVU values. The authors’ claims must be taken seriously. First, the suggestion that physicians provide unnecessary, inefficient, or low-quality services may be true for a very small minority. However, the majority of physicians we know are ethical and doing the best they can in an imperfect system. To suggest otherwise without basis is deeply troubling.
