In 2011, a 17-year-old Caroline Swon (then named Glaser) shared her bedroom version of Manchester Orchestra's "Deer" on YouTube. Juliet home, roughly 20 minutes outside of Nashville, having just wrapped up her first major tour under the banner of Brother Bird. For 11 dates across the southern United States and Midwest, Brother Bird opened for none other than Manchester Orchestra — a full-circle experience that Swon is still trying to process. The visibility provided by her appearance on The Voice was substantial as a starting point for Swon's budding career. On November 21, said tour kicked off in Atlanta, Ga. and phase one of Brother Bird was set in motion.
