Behind the decals covering every inch of the floor-to-ceiling shop windows is Adrian Aoun's radical vision of what health care delivery should be in the mobile era. "Imagine a doctor's office that feels more like an Apple Store," Aoun says in an interview. Before they leave, members are given one of the Forward-approved wearable devices, which are designed to beam the member's vitals to Forward care givers in real time, and perhaps some supplements too. Access to this futuristic primary care practice is $149 a month, for now, and it is billed annually. Aoun says the goal of Forward is not to dazzle tech-savvy millennials with cool gadgets but to change the model of primary health care from a "once-and-done" to an ongoing relationship between patient and health care provider, with a heavy emphasis on prevention and wellness.
