Ellie, now studying for her A levels, said: “I think the reason I love running a wildlife gardening club at school is because I feel pride in the difference we’ve made to our school environment. His idea to transform an empty patch of grass at his school into a garden took off and now he helps other kids grow produce there. He said: “Even the parents plant with us, so we’re spreading the gardening love. For many at St Gregory’s Catholic Science College in Harrow, London, the garden is their only connection with nature.
