But it has recently been removed after Coventry City Council deemed it "not appropriate" for the current age, Coventry Live reports. He told CoventryLive: "Apparently this was a common name for a dog owned by white British people back then. It is not known exactly when the grave marker at Coombe was removed, but its absence was noticed by one park user earlier this month. A spokesman for Coventry City Council said: "We can confirm the historical gravestone in memory of a loved pet was removed. "Our stance on racism is clear and although the gravestone was from another time it is not appropriate today."
