MENANDS — Northern Lights Dispensary received a special use permit from the village of Menands July 3, clearing its path to open a cannabis retail shop later this year. Northern Lights plans to start delivering cannabis “sometime in August” and open a brick-and-mortar location “sometime before Halloween,” said co-owner George Vlamis. The dispensary expects to receive a building permit from the village of Menands on July 17 and will start construction as soon as possible, Vlamis added. When opened, Northern Lights Dispensary will become one of the few brick-and-mortar recreational cannabis dispensaries in the Capital Region. Vlamis and Kelley co-own NL Dispo, an LLC which does business under the name Northern Lights Dispensary.
