The head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohamed Menfi, has reiterated his rejection of any violation of Arab states’ sovereignty during a phone call with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar. According to a statement, Menfi expressed Libya’s “full solidarity” — both leadership and people — with Qatar, warning that threats to the sovereignty and security of Arab states could have serious consequences for regional stability and further escalate tensions. He called for increased regional and international efforts to contain the crisis, stressing the need to prioritise dialogue and political and diplomatic solutions.
