You’d be forgiven for thinking Ireland’s mental health crisis was a problem of consumer awareness. Last week’s Irish Hospital Consultants Association (IHCA) report outlined chronic shortages and inefficiencies in Irish mental health services. We only have 22 adult mental health beds per 100,000 population compared to a mean of 70 per 100,000 across the EU.
