The deceased are Marjina Khatun, 50, and her mother Shamsunnahar, 70, of the village. Rashedul Alam, officer-in-charge of Maheshpur police station, said: "Marjina used to live with her mother Shamsunnahar and son Imran Hossain, 28, in the house. The OC added: "At one stage, Imran stabbed Marjina and Shamsunnahar indiscriminately, leaving them critically injured. However, some locals claimed Imran was a drug addict and used to beat up his mother and grandmother often for cash.
