Photograh: PA WireIreland will have “treacherous conditions” over the next two days due to lingering frost and ice and temperatures as low as -6 degrees, Met Éireann has said. This could result in local accumulations of snow, Met Éireann said, as well as “the odd rumble of thunder”. Monday will be another very cold and treacherous start with frost, ice and fog or freezing fog patches slow to clear. For most areas, it will be a dry and sunny day, with wintry showers mainly confined to north and northwest fringes by late morning. Showers will spread across the country early on Monday night, with temperatures being as low as -3 degrees.
