Met Office: Cold wave to continue for 3-4 more days


This cold spell, spreading to more areas every day, has added to the miseries and sufferings of the people amid the Covid-19 pandemic. According to a Met Office bulletin, as of 6pm on Sunday, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Rajshahi at 7.8°C while in the capital, Dhaka, the mercury dipped to 15.9°C. It was 8.7°C in Ishurdi, 8.4°C in Badalgachhi, 8.4°C in Srimangal, 8.1°C in Tetulia, and 8.8°C in Jessore. “The ongoing mild to moderate cold wave – sweeping over Rangpur division and the regions of Gopalganj, Srimangal, Rajshahi, Pabna. Bangladesh normally experiences chilling cold from mid-December to early February, with multiple cold spells hitting the country over the period.
