Met dept predicts sweltering Eid in Pakistan


According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Pakistan from June 5 till June 8, while very hot weather likely in southern parts of the country. Beating the heat, one innovation at a timeKarachi’s Chief Meteorologist Abdul Rashid confirmed that the dry, hot spell will most likely persist till after Eidul Fitr. He said the hot and dry weather would continue on the first two days of Eid but may let up by the third day. Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had announced that Eidul Fitr would be observed across Pakistan on June 5. Meanwhile, the federal government has announced a four-day public holiday on Eidul Fitr.
