Strong southerly winds are expected over the eastern half of the country, the Kenya Meteorological Department has warned. The department said strong winds may blow off roofs, uproot trees and cause structural damage. Sunny intervals are expected to prevail the whole day on Tuesday for Kwale, Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Tana River counties. In a July 24 to 25 forecast, Met had warned that Kenyans living in 13 counties should brace themselves for strong winds and large waves. Met director Stella Aura said there are south-easterly winds of 20 knots being experienced in the coastal area.
