As part of the arrangement, Meta will receive warrants to buy 160 million AMD shares in stages, the two companies said. The shares will vest when the project and AMD’s stock price reach certain milestones, turning Meta into a major holder. That ability to define more closely what it needs was part of the reason for committing to AMD, Janardhan said. After AMD shares surged 77% in 2025, they are down 8.2% so far this year. The Meta tie-up assumes that AMD shares are just at the start of a longer rally.
