The Tyne and Wear Metro is currently suspended in both directions between Pelaw and Brockley Whins after a vehicle struck a railway bridge in the Fellgate area. A statement from the Tyne and Wear Metro said: "Network Rail staff are currently investigating a vehicle striking a railway bridge in the Fellgate area. Tickets and passes can be used on Stagecoach service 18 which operates in either direction between Brockley Whins and South Shields.
