Manchester United must look at why big-name signings have failed to live up to expectations in recent seasons before signing anymore, claims former Red Devils striker Michael Owen. United are keen on bringing in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes before the end of the January transfer window. However, Owen believes any new signings now could be a waste of money for his old side. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have lost eight games in the Premier League this season and sit six points adrift of the Champions League qualification places. They are currently on course for their lowest ever points tally in the Premier League era.
