Microsoft has urged users of Windows 11 version 24H2 to upgrade to version 25H2, as support for the older release is set to end in October 2026. For general users running Windows 11 Home and Pro editions outside corporate management, the upgrade to version 25H2 will be delivered automatically. Users cannot decline the update, though they may delay installation or postpone system restarts for a limited time before the process proceeds. Despite concerns among some users about forced updates, Microsoft emphasised that the transition from 24H2 to 25H2 is relatively minor. While some may be reluctant to upgrade, Microsoft maintains that staying on a supported version is essential for long-term security and system reliability.
