There was a period during the latter 1980s when Belize City based teams (Coke Milpros and Duurly’s) seemed to dominate senior male football at the highest level in the country. Jewel Fury did not enter the NAWL 2022 Closing Season, which saw Sagitun Girlz becoming back-to-back champions this past weekend. There may not be a dynasty in the making, but for sure, 2022 is the Year of Mid-South in football. Mid-South is the boss! Congratulations to their three champions, Mid-South U13 Elite Girls, Sagitun Girlz of the NAWL, and Altitude FC of the PLB!
